NOTES:
This driver is for idisgo lite discontinued in December 2005 and is also a firmware upgrade.
Reinstall the firmware if you have the following message displayed on your player

  • “Incorrect format, reformat the player”.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING FIRMWARE UPGRADE

  • Download the upgrade instructions to familarise yourself with the upgrade process;

KeySafe Lite is only compatible on disgo lite and disgo classics manufactured after 01/06/2005.  U3 Smart drives do not support KeySafe Lite, even if U3 Launchpad has been removed.

*How to determine the date of manufacture of your disgo classic:
Remove the cap of your disgo classic, a serial number is printed along the side.  The first 3 digits of this 18 character number indicate the date of manufacture, for example 5 22 = 5 indicates the year (2005) 22 indicates week number (1st June)

This file is in WinZip format, you will need the WinZip program to extract the file. Download driver to your computer and extract the files to a folder. Once the files are extracted double click on Setup.exe to install.

This driver also installs the Jockey software and includes the firmware upgrade.

Install Instructions

  1. Ensure the idisgo lite is not plugged in;
  2. Download the file to your computer;
  3. Extract the files using Winzip;
  4. Double click setup.exe to start the installation;
  5. Follow the instructions to install the driver;
  6. Then plug the player into a USB port on your computer.

MYKEY

KeySafe is a multilingual application that gives you more control of the data stored on your disgo. With KeySafe, you can either secure confidential data on your disgo by protecting it with a password, or leave it free without password protection.

KeySafe Support

KeySafe does not require any installation – simply download it from the link and copy it to the disgo. Your computer must meet the following basic requirements

  • Pentium II 266MHz
  • 900KB free disk space
  • Operating Systems:, Windows 2000 (SP 4) , Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, Windows Vista
  • disgo firmware version 5.x and above for admin privilege
  • disgo firmware version 6.x and above for admin and non admin privilege
  • Access to your main drive (usually drive C)

Downloading KeySafe
To download KeySafe, simply insert your disgo into the USB port of your computer and click the Download KeySafe_disgo.exe link above. Select the drive where your disgo is located, and download KeySafe to it. Once finished, double click the KeySafe icon. You are now ready to begin working with KeySafe.

Using KeySafe
Along with the application, we have included a readme file above with simple procedures for using KeySafe. This file also contains a list of recent FAQs.

*If you need to use KeySafe on a computer where you do not have Administrative Priviledges and you are using disgo with firmware 5.x it is necessary to install the Non Admin Mode Service Patch.  Also download the NonAdminModeReadME document for information on how to install.


Boot Disk Utility

The boot utility is a full floppy disk replacement that enables disgo pro to boot the computer for data recovery.  Multilingual, the boot utility operates with most PCs running Windows.  Ensure your computer boots from USB Devices, you may need to make changes in your computer BIOS, refer to your computer manufactures handbook for information on how to do this.

Download KeySafe, MyKey & Boot Utility

Install Instructions

  1. Unplug the disgo from the USB port ;
  2. Run the disgo_s2_W98SE.exe file saved on a floppy, CD or your hard drive by double-clicking on it. Alternately, you can run the file from its current location;
  3. Click Next . The Welcome screen is displayed;
  4. Click Next . The License Agreement screen is displayed;
  5. Click Yes to accept the terms of the license agreement;
  6. Choose either your own folder in which to save the driver files, or choose the default C:\Program Files\M-Systems\DiskOnKey folder the InstallShield Wizard provides;
  7. Click Next . Review your settings before InstallShield Wizard starts copying the driver files;
  8. Click Next . InstallShield Wizard prompts you to remove your disgo if it is inserted;
  9. Click OK . The driver files are copied to the destination you chose in the previous step;
  10. Click Finish, you may be prompted to reboot the computer, if so let the computer reboot;
  11. You can now insert your disgo into your computer’s USB port and begin using it.

Disgo InstallShield wizard also greatly simplifies the Reinstall/Uninstall procedures. Just follow the steps below:

Reinstall Instructions

  1. Click the Start icon on your task bar;
  2. Choose Control Panel;
  3. Choose Add/Remove programs from the Control Panel;
  4. In the programs list, choose DiskOnKey;
  5. Click Add/Remove on the bottom of the window. A menu is displayed with uninstall and reinstall options;
  6. To reinstall your Disgo, just choose Reinstall and click Next . InstallShield wizard notifies you when it has completed the reinstall process.

Uninstall Instructions

  1. Follow steps 1-5 of the Reinstall procedures above;
  2. To uninstall your Disgo, choose Uninstall;
  3. Click Yes if you are sure that you want InstallShield wizard to proceed with the uninstall process;
  4. Click Yes to reboot your computer;
  5. After your computer reboots, the driver will be uninstalled.
